Day 177

THE FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER!

Thursday, December 1, 2016

Temperature: High 43° / Low 35°

What Kind  of Day Did I Have & Why?

Today was my day! Man, I was on FIRE all day and I’m sure it had a lot to do with those back-to-back beautificational days. I took Sparky to his groomer to get handsome, beasted the gym this morning without messing up my hair, filed my application to register my first business and had a great time at our building’s holiday party. Oh, and I can’t leave out the fact that I tried a new lipstick color today and LOVE it!

But can I just say AGAIN that
I filed my application to register my first business?!?
Yes I can, because this is MY journal and this is oh-so My Day!

This is Sparky post-haircut with his new brother. We're calling him Mark Anthony...or maybe Spike. We don't know.

How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?

I’d give my pain a 3 today. Just a little achy in the morning and by the time all of my meds were able to kick in, it was all good. I do need to re-up on the prescriptions soon, so I’ll add that to my to-do list since I think I have about a week’s worth left.

Workout Time & Duration?

Because my pain was on the low-low, I got it in extra hard today. I believe beasted is the word I used. Well, let me keep it 100... the lack of pain was helpful, but the lack of completed workout days was my real motivation!  I added a set to every workout I did  for Arms & Shoulders Day. Because my workout schedule has been so raggedy, I’m all over the place with my days this week. And since it was the afternoon, I was in there for a little less than 1 ½ hours today. I had to get out of there before the High School kids arrived - I’m not a fan of them being in the gym.

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?
Nope.

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:
Not today, but I did get to file my application to register my business, so I’ll give myself a pass.

Loving Black Love Moment?

So, technically this didn’t happen today, but Che has made a few random comments about how he likes my lips and thinks that I should try brighter colors; I usually stick to my nudes and darker hues. When I asked him what color he thinks I should try, he said RED and I was shocked, but intrigued. Well today, since we were going to a holiday party, I felt it would be the perfect time to explore the red lipsticks at Sephora and I fell in love with the first one I tried on - Tartiest Bae by Tarte. I confirmed with the one and only other black woman in the store (that’s Pittsburgh for ya) and bought it. Che loved it, I love it and I got several compliments on it - this was a good night! This moment reminded me of how much I love the fact that we are both growing more and more comfortable giving and taking advice from each other. We are able to push each other to try new things that are outside of our comfort zones. That love, trust and support makes it so easy!

Thanks Tarte!

What am I happy for?

I'm happy that Tarte Cosmetics made this amazing lipstick! Seriously, I'm living for it right now. I’d sleep in it if I could, but I don’t want to think about the heart attack Che would have once he woke up to the smears all over our white pillowcases.

What could I have done better?

I could have looked around Sephora and found out if there were any other colors that I like. Yeah, I could have been a better shopper...although I’m sure our destination wedding budget is happy that I didn’t.

Okay, okay...enough about this damn lipstick - I know...I’m done!

What am I doing tomorrow?
Working out is the only thing that I MUST do!
