DAY 189

Saturday, November 19, 2016

Temperature: High 35° / Low 30°

What Kind  of Day Did I Have & Why?

Cold. Just cold...
Okay, it was fun too - we got to fellowship with friends and got tickets to the Pitt football game with Che's coworkers.

Which brings me back to the cold. Did I say it was cold? Because it was...

How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?

I woke up way too early and never got my nap, so I fell asleep feeling like hot garbage - on my friend's couch during the Sergey Kovalev v Andre Ward fight. This was a terrible idea because somehow I had to wake up, put on my shoes and mozey on home... Wasn't the most fun experience. The whole day went pretty well as a whole, so I give it an overall average of 5 on my pain meter. Today was the first day of snow and we spent a good amount of time outdoors, so I think Pittsburgh's cold weather has officially decided to start kicking my ass. Yay. No exclamation point, just yay.

Che said I look like Sheneneh... He's a hater.

Workout Time & Duration?

I was able to get a pretty good workout in with Che earlier this morning...or maybe it was more like the early afternoon. Either way, I got through Week 2 - Day 5 - Upper Body Day: Arms & Shoulders and Che even hopping in on a few reps with me. I'd say we were in and out in about an hour and a half. Nothing crazy. I also, wore as many colors as I needed to motivate me to hit the gym.

I should also note that because the weather was so terrible and we did not want to walk through the wet and miserable mess that Pittsburgh gave us, we drove and parked near the gym. It was what we needed to do to get that workout in. It was that, or using the weather as an excuse to not complete Day 5 - again! No excuses today!

Loving Black Love Moment?

At this moment, my blog isn't completely Live. I'm feeling my way through this process and getting comfortable before sharing with the masses of friends and family. Tonight, we attended a Pre-Thanksgiving Party that our friends throw every year and I ended up talking to friends about my goals for this blog. Che had nothing but great words to say about it and brought up some of my accomplishments so far.  He really loves and supports me!

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:

Another perk to driving to the gym is that we were able to take the long way and hit the FedEx Store up. What's in the FedEx Store? A nice gentleman in a cute purple shirt who was there just to help me tape my fabric-filled Bridals by Lori box up and send it back to the store. Yup, I finally sent that fabric back - well it won't be picked up until Monday - but I have done my part. Now I get to stalk it on the way back to Bridals by Lori and then I get to bother the hell outta Flo until I get my new and corrected fabric back! Good times are headed my way.

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?

Our wedding guest list popped back up... sort of!

We invited a friend to our wedding and she never responded to our paper invitation or our follow up emails. Like never. Actually, I take that back... since we also work together, she did mention that she got our invitation and forgot to respond...while we were talking about her not doing the right things for another friend's wedding. I let it slide, but did explain that brides and girlfriends have feelings - lots of feelings.

Fast-forwarding to almost a year later - we don't speak at work anymore, she never mentioned our wedding again and I'm a little salty, but overall fine with that.

What I'm not fine with is her deciding to come to this party and act like she speaks to me or ever responded to our wedding invitation or communications...That is exactly what she did tonight at the Pre-Thanksgiving Party...So the best thing I could do is fight my urge to tell her how wack her behavior is and ignore her to the best of my ability. It wasn't easy, but mission accomplished.

Old Destination Wedding Task Completed: Trying my best not to cuss out a wedding disrespecter.  CHECK!

What could I have done better?

I should have made more strides to stay warm and take a damn nap. I knew by 9am that I wasn't going to make it the whole day, and I pushed the envelope anyway.

What am I happy for?

Supportive and motivational friends.

What am I doing tomorrow?

Resting...
Staying Warm...
And making nachos hoping my Steelers don't embarrass me - or themselves playing these wack ass Cleveland Browns.
