What Kind  of Day Did I Have & Why?

Beautificational = Beautification & Motivational

Today was a great day! The weather was really nice, I was able to just be girlie for a day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I was able to do things just for Omi simply because I wanted to look good. I will usually squeeze my lady-time in between the rest of my day (running to the nail shop on lunch break, or after work and before dinner...stuff like that) but today my nail and laser hair removal appointments were at the TOP of my to-do list. And it felt good! Check and check!

How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?

I was a just a tiny bit achy this morning and by the time Kim at the laser spot was finished with me, I was uncomfortable for a while. Shit, laser hair removal hurts! Anyone who says otherwise cannot be trusted! THAT SHIT HURTS! On the other hand, I don't regret it and do plan to get more areas done, but I'm just saying...the shit hurts. I'm glad I got my nails done afterward because I was able to relax in the pedicure chair and counteract my previous appointment. I'd give pain a 4 overall - not counting laser pain since that was self-inflicted.

Workout Time & Duration?

Here's the thing: I originally planned to workout before my laser appointment, but that didn't happen for a couple reasons:

  1. I was too nervous thinking about the pain I was about to go through
  2. I don't think I'm supposed to sweat before or after my appointment
  3. I didn't relax my hair yet and can't sweat before I do that
  4. Annnddd... I woke up too late.

Damn I have a lot of excuses...but they're all valid. Except maybe #2, I'm not so sure about that one but imma run with it. All of that to say, I didn't take my ass to the gym today. There -- I said it.

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:

Since we canceled my alterations appointment yesterday, Debbie and I decided that it would be best to reschedule so I can stay on her books. She gets busy and I need my time! I love that she was thoughtful enough to make sure we did that. My plan was to reschedule once I received my fabric and who knows what her schedule will look like by that time. Good lookin' out Debbie!

While at the nail shop I discussed nail ideas for the wedding and I'm thinking that I want to do a light color similar to my all-time favorite BubbleBath by OPI, but have some gold foil-type accents added to it. Maybe gold and silver...or something like that. I started a new Pinterest page dedicated to nail options. I can't believe I hadn't considered that yet. I also realized that since I'm having a destination wedding, my nails won't be fresh on my wedding day unless I let someone do them at the resort... I'm not so sure about that so I gotta check with my Desti Bridefriends and see what they did. Nails are definitely on my radar now!

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?

I checked my emails late as hell and saw that Flo at Bridals by Lori replied to me about my fabric. She confirmed that the $15 is for the additional fabric so I'll pay it in the morning and cross my fingers that it'll arrive before my next alterations appointment. Well, the actual plan is to drop off the fabric once it arrives and then it should take Debbie about 2 weeks to complete the next step in the alterations. I'm getting excited just typing this!

I'm geting married!!!

Loving Black Love Moment?

Our dinner menu originally had baked chicken thighs on it, but by the time I finished all of my beautificational tasks, I was done with the day. It wasn't fair, but I asked Che to pick up some takeout since I wasn't feeling cooking tonight and he didn't even make me feel bad about it. Chicken thighs are his favorite, so I know it was a disappointment for him, but he was a team player today. To make up for it I promised to prepare a beautiful dinner for him tomorrow. It was a small compromise, but they all matter and are appreciated!

What am I happy for?

Bridals by Lori! I've been going a little hard on them for what I'll call "The Fabric Fiasco of 199", but the reality is that I have loved my experience since I stepped foot on their doormat back in February. I know the fabric wasn't their fault and they have done everything they can do to correct the manufacturer's mistake. I'm just having a mini-zilla moment. But it's mini, though! I'm happy for Bridals by Lori and I need to finish my blog post on my experience there. Now THAT was an entertaining day!

What could I have done better?

I could have scrounged up some energy to make my man his chicken thighs. I really didn't keep track of the time and should have done better there. But on the other hand, if I would have done that, what would my Loving Black Love Moment be today???
Exactly!
But I could have done better... I'll make it up to him.

What am I doing tomorrow?

The beautifying shall continue because I have my hair appointment tomorrow. I'm getting my hair done -- finally! Who knows how long that'll take, so I won't add anything else to the day, but I will get to dig into my new magazines tomorrow. Maybe some wedding motivation will pop up!

Nails done, hair done, everything did!
