Day 36

Destilorette Weekend!

Friday, April 21, 2017

Temperature: Atlanta’s weather was perfect!
There was no rain until it was time to leave - can’t ask for more!

I had an amazing weekend! This was definitely an unforgettable weekend and I’m so appreciative of all of the love and support that surrounded us and I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as much as I did - or at least close!

I decided that the best way to share and keep track of this weekend is through lists. I took notes throughout the weekend and I’m pretty proud of what I could remember.

Sooo much happened and so much liquor was consumed, that this is my best option…

Here goes:

FRIDAY

Pack!

I stayed awake through Thursday the night so that I could pack and finish Friday’s podcast episode. Yes...I said pack! Not finish packing...oh no...packing from scratch! I have been thinking about this weekend for MONTHS and still don’t know WHAT shoes I’m wearing...and on top of all of that, I had ZERO items in my suitcase.

So, what happens when I don’t have a plan? EVERYTHING  goes in the bag! So I still don’t know what I’m wearing, but I by the morning I had a full carry-on suitcase and a duffel bag full of shit.

Finish podcast episode!

I finished packing and this week’s podcast episode by 6 am which left me 1 ½ hours to nap before I had to shave, shower and all that good stuff...What the hell was I thinking all damn week?

Shirts!

While Che was in the shower, I heard a knock at the door and it was the UPS Man delivering my first batch of T-shirts! Perfect timing Mr. UPS Man! They're not perfect, but this is the first step, so I’m feeling proud and extra celebratory at this moment and so was my future husband because he decided that we needed to have a celebratory shot of tequila!

Yes - Tequila shots
before brushing my teeth!

TRAVEL!

We had a great flight on which I slept the entire time, but I woke up to the perfect sign outside my window...rental car pickup went smoothly and we were off into the A!

Che rented an Air B&B house and we absolutely loved it, the size and decor were perfect, and we even ended up with an additional room! We Checked into the house and were back on the road into good ole’ Atlanta traffic!

Beauty Time!

My favorite esthetician, Eryn Renee at the Beauty Loft Spa gave us Facials so that our skin can be all pretty & shit for our wedding. I really let no one else touch my face...what am I gonna do if she ever stops working her magic? Don't know, don't care right now!

I got a pedicure during Che’s facial, which was a little traumatic for him, but it’ll be so worth it.
No one likes extractions! Anyone who says they do cannot be trusted.

We had lunch at one of my favorite spots, the Tavern at Phipps (their buffalo oysters and crabcake sandwich must be made with love) and then went into Phipps Plaza to do a little shopping. We both ended up leaving with our first pairs of Gucci shoes and then we got a few things from Lenox Square across the street.

Damn, I miss Atlanta!

But I can say that it so much easier to save money with all the boring shopping in Pittsburgh. Atlanta just makes you want more nice shit - well, that and the fact that I'm in town for my bachelor/bachelorette/destilorette party had something to do with it too - I’m sure!

Everyone arrives!

After our adventure, we went back to the house to meet with our friends who traveled to party with us and my friends who already live in Atlanta came too! It felt so good to have everyone in one place getting to know each other. No drama at all - everywhere I looked there was laughter and smiles! Gotta love it!

We were up late, but time flies when you’re having fun!
Tomorrow was the Big Day...well not THE Big Day, but it’s still a Big Day.
