DAY 187

Monday, November 21, 2016

Temperature: High 35° / Low 28°
It's cold...and I'm pretty sure it never hit that alleged 35° high. The weather man is getting nothing but a side-eye today cuz he's on some bull.

What Kind  of Day Did I Have & Why?

I woke up feeling free. Free from stress, free to do what I love and free to do what is best for me and my family! It was a great day, which is pretty damn special in light of the customary angst that Mondays tend to bring.

Not THIS Monday! A girl can get used to this.

How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?
Building on my case for a liberating day, I felt good physically too! I was able to get a lot done, planned the rest of my year out and had very little aches. Hell, I didn't really feel much until this very moment (@ about 11:41pm). I'll take something before bed, but I'd give today a 2.5 overall. I was even able to go to the grocery store this evening - which is BIG! The grocery store is usually a sure-fire way to jumpstart a Lupus flare.

Loving Black Love Moment?

Speaking of Grocery Store shopping - our Black Love Moment was ignited by grocery store shopping. Sounds crazy, right? I know, but it's true. In an effort to avoid Lupus flares, we don't really do heavy grocery shopping anymore. Instead, use our grocery store's online shopping service - Curbside Express. It isn't 100% fool-proof, but if you haven't tried anything like it, I encourage you to give it a shot. It's also pretty affordable considering the amount of time and effort we save (our store offers it for only $4.95, but there is a free 3-visit trial too). Anyway, back to the Love...

This is the list. If you look really closely you can see the pen holes I made trying to check off the items while walking. Fun times!

I wanted to be nostalgic and was insistent on doing our Thanksgiving grocery shopping the old school way - paper list and all (I'm an iPhone Notes kinda girl). We knew the gamble and Che was apprehensive about it - but still supportive. During our adventure he was sure to take care of me which involved making sure I used my hands the least amount possible, making sure I stayed away from the cold sections and moving around for me when I needed him to. Lupus makes life difficult, but my man makes sure it doesn't get the best of me. Gotta love that man!

A large reason I was willing to put myself in that position is because this is our last Thanksgiving Shopping Trip before we get married!

Thanks to Che, it all worked out...I wanted to do it right!  I guess I have my traditions too!

Workout Time & Duration?

I did my best to make sure that Week 3 - Day 1: Booty Day was a good one and I DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The Booty burned the whole time (in a good way, of course) and I really needed it! Even though it was cold and I had to put on a million layers to stay warm during my walk to the gym, I was feeling good and the motivation was there. AND, it was done in a little over an hour. It's that liberation I woke up with... I know it! I just realized that I didn't stretch... I'm gonna need to do that tonight before I regret it in the morning.

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:
Does tracking my fabric package count??? Because if it doesn't I've got nothing. I'll back on it tomorrow.

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?

How about here? Does stalking my package count as old?

Well damn...I got Nada again.

What could I have done better?

I know I'm going on and on about how LIBERATING today was, but here's the truth: I didn't know how to describe this day until I sat down to write this journal entry. If I could have done anything better today, it would be putting forth more effort to really enjoy every moment of today. I was so busy moving and getting things done (which was great), that I missed the significance of this day and didn't know it until it was too late.

Yesterday, the only thing I had on my To-Do list for today was Enjoying not having a job! I could have done better for sure.

But than again, there's always tomorrow!

What am I happy for?

  1. My new lease on life and the opportunity to be able to feel so liberated! This day will go down in the books...well, I guess it kind of is already in my books since I'm journaling it for the whole world to see. Anywho, I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for me.
  2. Curbside Express - Although did ot use it today, I know it has helped keep me healthy... I have no doubt in my mind.

What am I doing tomorrow?

  1. Changing my Invisalign trays. I'm almost halfway done and loving the results. I'll be posting my progress, experiences and tips at that point.
  2. Hopping back onto these Napkins. Time is ticking and I need to make a choice and before I bring it to Che, I need some hard & concrete numbers... Yeah...Gotta get those. Also, I'm getting tired of talking about the lack of progress I'm making about these damn napkins.
  3. Brining this turkey! It will be good and thawed by the morning and ready for me to put all my goodness on it!

Butterball waiting on me like...
