DAY 186

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Temperature: High 41° / Low 27°

What Kind  of Day Did I Have & Why?  |   How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?

Comfortable.
I even made a smoothie this morning. I woke up kinda late, but that smoothie made everything alllllll right.
I felt pretty good today. Not as good as yesterday, but still good. I don't think it is possible to recreate the day I had yesterday, and I'm okay with that.  I'll give it a 3 for pain...and a 8.5 for my general day!

Workout Time & Duration?

We had an evening workout today. Week 3 - Day 2: Chest and Shoulders Day had me thinking about wearing tube tops and spaghetti straps all ChOmi (my pet name for us...get it? Che & Omi) destination wedding weekend long! If I keep this up, imma be Supa Fine by then :) . I think I'm going to start posting progress pics... after Thanksgiving. Yeah, I'm sure Turkey Day is going to bring me back a few steps, but I have high hopes for keeping the workout going. Today only took about 1.5 hours including cardio & core. Not bad at all! And I probably should've done more cardio to be ready for this weekend!

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:

Well, after sitting at my computer for about an hour trying to REALLY figure out which size napkins we need 20X20, 18X18, 16X16, I had a lightbulb moment:

How about I ask my damn Wedding Planner?!? Duh!

It seems so simple, but for some reason it took me 2 weeks to have this lightbulb moment. I sent Joyce a message to see what I should do and...

Voila! Napkin sizes are off my plate!

I'll hear back from her in a few days (it is usually quicker, but I imagine she'll be taking some time for the holiday). I really can't believe it took me so long to ask her. It's her job - this is what she does! Anyway, I'm not going to beat myself up about it anymore. Now that I have a clearer and more LIBERATED mind, I guess I was able to have this lightbulb moment.

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?

Che and I both really value mental and emotional health, so earlier in our engagement, we decided that we wanted to go through pre-marital counseling. We agreed that we wanted to start when we were closer to the wedding date, so today I put a bug in Che's ear that we need to jump on that soon. We still need to go over the options we have found so far and make a decision to get some appointments scheduled.

I had to bring it back onto our radar, but Pre-marital Counseling has made a comeback!

Loving Black Love Moment?

We got some good quality chillaxing time in tonight, which is extra important while wedding planning. We have our favorite TV shows that we like to watch together and the new season of The Affair has started this week, so we watched the first episode.  Watching TV together is great connection time for us, so we make strides to do it uninterrupted (no work or phones allowed) and we often pause throughout the show to talk about any interesting topics and share our thoughts and opinions. A good 1 hour show can easily take us 1.5 hours to get through...that's how we can tell if it's good!

There is nothing like laying together on the couch watching TV with Che. We've watched plenty of TV together in our lives (we've known eachother since we were 8 and 9 years old), but that was more of us sitting on 2 different couches or maybe on the same couch. Now, we lay together usually intertwined in some kind of way, and it is the best!

What am I happy for?

The feeling I get when I'm laying with Che, he wraps his arms around me and strokes my hair. At that exact point I'm able to realize how tense I was beforehand and how lucky I am always.

What could I have done better?

I could have managed my time better. I woke up late and didn't get everything done on my calendar, but that's okay. There's always tomorrow! Oh, and my smoothie could have been better too - maybe I'll add Chia Seeds next time.

What am I doing tomorrow?

  1. Stalking my fabric since it still hasn't arrived at Bridals by Lori;

  2. Drafting my appointment rescheduling message to send to my seamstress Debbie. I'm not sending it until Monday so I don't look crazy asking people questions during the holiday, so this may not happen tomorrow, but it needs to happen before then; and

  3. Prepping for Thanksgiving... This involves cutting all veggies up and making the greens and potato salad so they can sit overnight and be ready on Thanksgiving. Who doesn't love next day greens and potato salad? The flavors meld mo much better the next day. It's just amplified goodness!
